SPRING brings about many things like, sunny weather, birds singing, flowers blooming...
and the local Recreation & Parks District Classes
and Activities Magazine.
and the local Recreation & Parks District Classes
and Activities Magazine.
When my kids were young, I enrolled them in many of the activities that the parks district offered.
They took many classes that were offered such as,
cooking, swimming, diving, drawing and painting, gymnastics, dance and acting classes.
They really enjoyed them all!
So, as I picked up this parks district magazine, I thought maybe there is something that I would be interested in taking. As I thumbed through the magazine, there were many classes offered for adults, but none of them really suited me.
Here are a few of the selections:
Music Lessons- (um.. not for me)
Sewing-(I don't own a sewing machine)
Ballroom Dance- ( can you do this solo, the Mister is not too interested)
Polynesian Dance-(thought about this for about a second...me, shaking my hips in a grass skirt. I'm really laughing out loud, can you hear me?)
Now, this last one I really thought long and hard about. The pictures make it look like, that although there is some work involved,
anyone can do it and it could be fun...
(Silence....except for cricket's chirping)
I did not want to give up, so I turned to the next page...
it was titled, Age 50+ Programs.
Wasn't it just last year, it said, Age 55+ Programs? Because I was sooo thankful that I was not ready for those classes yet.
BUT, here I am.
I will be celebrating the BIG 50 later this year.

Do you think they will still let me participate in this age category?
They offer some fun classes in the 50+ age.
How about...

Bunco Club
Clogging
Scrap Booking
Hoops for Your Droops (twirl your way to a sculpted midsection)
Quilt Club
Photography
Hiking
Indoor Lawn Bowling
Color 101 (make-up tips for mature skin).

Now, I don't know if it is just because I am getting older...
but a few of these look promising.
I may just sign up for one of them.
Can you guess which?
I will let you know in an upcoming blog...pictures and all!
That is... if they don't think I am still way too young!

Let's see...
you probably would choose Photography, Hiking or Jewelry making. Actually, those are the ones I'd choose!
All sound like something to behold
At least that's what your told
Wait until you see
As some might not bring you glee
Put some could bring you such fun
How do you pick just one
Nice little read it was
And I'm here because
Christine stated people should give you a look
Advice I took
Wish I could tag along!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a footprint in my comment box.
Happy to return the visit and find your lovely postings.
Since we've only just met, I can hardly imagine what class you might choose.....although I might be tempted to suggest scrap booking as the background and header of your blog seem quite creative in that way.......
so we shall see........
. . . pictures and all!
Is that a clue?
Photography?
Sis, I think you would pick scrapbooking. Wish you lived closer so we could do one together. I miss you!
I'd like to do a few of those classes myself. I used to play bunco once a month...way back when I was truly young.
And for the record...you are not old.
Since you and I are fellow 49ers, I particularly enjoyed this post.
I thought some of those looked promising. I love the name HOOPS for your DROOPS.
Maybe they could combine two in one and have Polynesian Hooping. Just a thought.
But catchy name aside, I'm not getting into the hoola hoop craze. I never got that stinking thing to stay above the knees for more than a minute when I was 10, and I don't anticipate any better luck today.
