DIY-Through The Looking Glass

First, let me explain, I am
a "wanna be" crafter.

Not to be mistaken with an
"actual crafter".

I had to make this crystal clear before
you see my DIY project, that I
recently completed.

This month I opened up my favorite
magazine--Better Homes & Gardens.

As I flipped through the pages, this caught
my eye, and although I don't live in a cabin,
and the decor in my home is not outdoorsy,
I still thought, hey, this is
something that I could do.

I had the glass bowl and some greenery
and I only had to buy a few of the items
to complete this cute,
Looking Glass Centerpiece.

Of Course,it really was
not as easy as I thought.
My "looking glass" was a different
shape, my birds different colors,
my nest was different and the greenery
was from my Christmas Tree and it's needles
were longer and didn't bend well.

This is how mine turned out.

It was... just ok.

I woke up the next morning and looked
at my Looking Glass and decided that it
just was not "me" or quite "my style".

I needed a centerpiece that I could
use on Christmas Day when
family and friends come over for
Christmas dinner.

This just was not it.

Soooo- I took out the greenery,
the birds,the nest and started
all over again.

After several, many some attempts of arranging
and rearranging to get it just right,

Here is the Looking Glass Centerpiece
that I will use for Christmas.

Yep, I think this one will do!

I like that you tried something and made it your own. That, my friend is a Crafter.

Merry Christmas!

I beg to differ with you, because I think you are a crafter. I actually like both of your creations, although the second one seems like the perfect Christmas centerpiece. I commend your efforts.
