Change Can Be Good

After watching the movies-

My Sweets and I, have come to the conclusion
that we want to change the way that we eat.
I don't think we will ever be "Vegans",
but I have vowed to make two meals
 a week with just vegetables.

If that goes well ... maybe even more.

We are starting out with baby steps.

If you have not seen either of the two
movies above, we highly recommend them.

There is no way, after seeing them, that you
won't come away with this phrase...

OMG! (Oh My Goodness!)

I purchased the "Forks Over Knives" cookbook,
and we have been taste testing new recipes; weekly.

Keith and I always seem to want something small
but sweet after dinner,
so I found this recipe ,in the cookbook.

Frozen Chocolate Banana Treats

Frozen Chocolate Banana Treats

1/3 c maple syrup
1/3 c plant-based milk
1/3 c cocoa powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 ripe bananas
2 c oats
Grape-Nuts Cereal

Directions:

Puree the maple syrup, milk, cocoa, vanilla, and bananas in food processor
until well combined. Transfer to a bowl. Add the oats and mix well.

Line a baking sheet with wax paper.  Put Grape-Nuts in a small bowl.
Using the big end of a melon baller or a small spoon, scoop up a little
chocolate ball and drop it into the bowl of Grape-Nuts. Turn the ball
over with a spoon or your fingers (you may find it easier to use your fingers),
then sprinkle Grape-Nuts onto the sides and gently place it onto the wax paper.  Repeat this process with the rest of the chocolate mixture.

Freeze the entire pan of chocolate treats.  After the treats are frozen,
Transfer them to an airtight container and store it in the freezer.

We give them 2 thumbs up!

They are really good and good for you too!

Hi Crickit, I love hearing that you are adding more veges to your meals; when at home I juice-usually for lunch every day. I always feel so much healthier when I do. Great job, I bet you'll not only feel better but find you want more and more.
Hugs, Noreen

You got me at chocolate!
Bought the bananas and have the chocolate. Can't wait to try your recipe.

Tom and I have been making Mondays meatless. But we rarely have meat anymore. We'll watch your recommendations. The titles are very cute.

We have been eating healthier in our house for well over a year now! I don't mind the change but there are somedays when I am searching the house for something bad! Yesterday all I could find was a bag of jelly beans from Easter! I was happy to have found them! That does look like a nice recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Good for you... I haven't seen the movies and will have to make time. We started making changes several years ago and are still amazed at what we used to put into our bodies! OMG!!

Blessings, Debbie

Good for you! I don't think I could ever leave meat behind, but I'm sure it's a healthier choice. The chocolate banana bites look delicious!
