What I did this Weekend (mostly wordless)

It was "on the road" for us again this weekend. We traveled to the desert with some good friends of ours on the bikes. We stayed at a place in Palm Springs called,"Casa Cody". It was very old world style with shutters on the doors and windows that opened up to let in the soothing breezes of Palm Springs. We enjoyed our meals and morning coffee out on our own little courtyard! We also rode out to Joshua Tree National Park... talk about BREATHTAKING! The desert was gorgeous with blooms everywhere; rock formations like nothing I have ever seen before and all under a beautiful blue sky with clouds that looked as if they were air brushed in their places.

We stopped to look at the "Cholla Cactus". These cactus are also called "jumping Cholla". The reason for that being that small pieces break off and can attach to you without your knowledge. I was so worried about everyone and made sure to tell them to.... step carefully so there would be no little painful jumpers caught on anyone's legs. Well.... as you can see below... one hitched a ride on my leather chaps! Thank goodness it wasn't my bare skin, Keith had to remove it and the needles that attached itself with pliers!!

Oh my gosh, you didn't tell me about the cactus jumping on you! The pictures are very scenic. Good job Sissy.

These pictures are beautiful! So different from where I live (Pacific NW). I have never seen cactus or rock formations like these. Wonderful!
Makes me want to visit.
