Have Rooster...Will Travel

For many years now, I have had a collection
 of  Roosters.

I have had Rooster...
Wall Hangings
Plates
Salt & Pepper Shakers
Trash Can
Hand Soaps
Lotion Dispenser
Clock
Calendars
Candle Holders & Candles
Pencil & Pen Holder
Door Stopper
Coffee Cups
Stationary & Note Cards
Napkin Holder

You get the idea.

My daughter and son in law recently moved into their first house.
She has done a beautiful job in decorating their home.
She has great taste in decor.

She has decided that she would like to decorate
with Roosters also, so she has started her own collection.

While we were there in June, she asked me if I wouldn't mind giving-up
one of my roosters from my house, so she could put it up in her house.
I guess she has been eyeing it for a long time.

I was a little hesitant at first because this particular one
was a gift to me, from my sister.
I told my sister about it and she was fine with it
as long as it stayed in the family.  Thanks Sis!

It is a bit quirky,
but I have really enjoyed having it adorn my walls for many years now.
It is one of those pieces that brings a smile to your face.

Here it is.

AND...

Here it used to hang.

So, we packed up the Roosters and sent them to their new home.

The package arrived safe and sound.

The Rooster plaque has found a new home...

... in my daughter's cute kitchen.

And although I will miss my quirky little Rooster plaque,
I found something new to fill up the empty space,
and it wasn't with a Rooster either.

What a wonderful reminder, that each new day is a
Blessing from my Lord and Savior.

Wishing you ALL a Blessed Day!

It's great that she wants a little bit of "home" at her new home.
And I don't blame her for having her eye on the particular piece, very cute.

Now when you look at your new wall art, you will remember her and that she has a little bit of you around. I think that's wonderful.

It is nice to see the wall hanging in Kristen's new kitchen. I hope she enjoys it. It was a fun piece to purchase and I am glad it is staying in the family.

Hi, How wonderful that she wanted something of yours-what a blessing that you so willingly gave it to her. My girls and I don't have that similar tastes but every now and again they find something of mine they like.
Have a wonderful day!

Just to let you know how far behind the style curve I AM, I am just now beginning to decorate with roosters.

And I'm no newlywed.

I love them and think the one you shared with your daughter is cute. I think you scored with the replacement too.

Oh I am laughing...I once did a post on my chickens, since so many people have them as pets...mine were in pictures and roosters statues. Well I decided to change from my rooster/chicken theme some, and guess who wanted my roosters? My mom!!!...so my roosters have traveled and yet stayed in the family.

Her house looks wonderful and I know each time she sees that she is reminded of home and her mom.

How neat to see that you both hung the roosters in a similar place! That sure was a cute rendition of roosters, and I like what you replaced it with, too.
You make the simplest happenings so interesting with your words and photos combinations.
By the way - I haven't commented in a while, but I still love your blog!

So cute! I love having some of my mama's things, that I'm used to seeing in her house, at home in mine. I like that connection! It was sweet of you to share!

Hi Crickit, I'm getting caught up on all my blogs after being away on vacation. Thanks for the book recommendations! I'm always looking for new books to read. I loved the stone piles! That is impressive! And how nice of you to give your rooster picture to your daughter. What a nice mom!

How sweet that it was so important to her. I would love to see some of my favorite "things" move to my children's homes but they are not quite settled enough yet.
