Simple Pleasures- By The Sea

We recently took a four day mini vacation to our
favorite beach camping spot.

We were right on the beach where every room has a view.

Motorhomes, trailers and tents occupy almost every spot.

We camped in our little home away from home,
our tent trailer.

Some of our good friends came also
and we were neighbors on this beach.

Now this vacation was purely a relaxing get-away.

That meant that there were no strenuous hikes, biking
or any other sort of non-relaxing activities.

What we did enjoy
was lots of...

sitting in our beach chairs,
dolphin & seal watching in our beach chairs,
reading magazines & books in our beach chairs
enjoying each others company in our beach chairs
campfires in our beach chairs.

Now, did I mention BEACH CHAIRS at all?

I think I forgot to mention that my chair is
mostly known as the "queen's chair".

I'm not sure why my husband would name it that? Hmmmm.

My poor little old pink queen's chair
has seen it's last days, I'm afraid.

So, before our last trip out to the beach,
we purchased a new queen's chair,
complete with
beverage holder, cell phone holder
large pocket for magazines & books
and a pillow for the queen's head.

I am really enjoying this new chair.

It is not pink, but I love it still.

This is my Simple Pleasure.

Now... on to HIS Simple Pleasure.

With all of the relaxing going on, I think that
my man and my friends man,
may have been just a bit bored.
First, it started out like this.

And then, this.

And in the end...

Those men were very proud of their creations.

It actually did feel a little 'zen' on the beach after that.

One Simple Pleasure that we could all agree on,
was what we saw on one of our nightly walks.

This was a little something that one of the motorhome
occupants put out as a fun little
"double take" for everyone who happened by.

WOW... did it look real!

Oh thanks for the giggle...this was great from beginning to end...I really wished I lived near the beach and with another 110 degree day here I could use the breeze.

Love the chair..sounds like one of my husband's comments.

The stones...just great..from this household of five sons...I can so relate.

Sounds like an awesome time...the feet hanging out...now that would be my boys also, they have done that to me a time or two acting like their brother was stuck under the bed.

Have a great week...enjoyed your simple pleasure

Your vacation sounded wonderful! How nice to really just relax in your new favorite chair!

My gf and I are going to the ocean (Vero Beach in Florida) in February. Looking forward to it!!

Have a great day!

Ahhh...sitting on the beach, watching seals, listening to the waves come in. Now that's what I call a vacation. Funny gag. Some people have wonderful sense of humors!

Hope you're posting this to Dayle's simple pleasures party on Thursday. This is a whole banquet of them!

Love your new queen's chair. That made me laugh. I think you should stencil a crown on it or something.

And the man project? I'm predicting that hundreds of years from now, someone will think it has some cosmic meaning. LOL

There is nothing more fun, relaxing and pleasurable then the beach.
You know HOW to do it!

Some people have a funny sense of humor, love it!

That looks like my kind of vacation! I live about 40 minutes from the Atlantic and I love it! It must of been a sad day when you had to retire your chair. The new one looks quite comfy and will serve you well for years! I really like the stone/artwork, very nice! It would look nice in a frame. Give one to the other builders as a nice summer memory!

I never did this kind of vacation but I think it sounds like lots of fun. I bet you felt so rested when you came home. Relaxing time by the ocean, with good friends, and no schedule...how special!

Hi Cricket, I love coming here but you are making me miss my California and the beauty of the ocean. I don't miss the stress of living there though. I probably asked you this before but did you ever live the the bay area-near Los Altos? I worked with a gal and since we are close in age...I mean how many Cricket's can there be? Glad you had fun at the beach; have a great weekend.
Hugs, Noreen

Good thing I don't have to choose between his and her pleasures. I love them both.
