Groundhog Day or Woodchuck's Play

Yesterday was the day where little mister groundhog came out of the ground to see if he could see his shadow; telling us all
(especially those on the east coast) if Spring will be sprung early or not this year.  The truth be told, the groundhog is also called a woodchuck (or) they are one in the same.

"groundhog" (ˈɡraʊndˌhɒɡ) -- n

 another name for woodchuck

I also found out something interesting about woodchucks.

"Woodchucks do not chuck or throw around wood, despite the popular tongue twister that queries how much they would if they could. As burrowing rodents, they don’t have much to do with wood or trees at all."- The Hot Word

Soooo... are they REALLY saying that this popular saying...

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck

If a woodchuck could chuck wood?

A woodchuck would chuck all the wood he could

If a woodchuck could chuck wood!

Is not true??

Guess they better let these two in on it!

We live a couple of hours from Punxsatawny and watch Phil do his thing on tv every year. We were very happy he saw his shadow this year. Only wish spring really was right around the corner!
