Today is a special day... a day of CELEBRATION!
Because on this day... twenty- four years ago,
God brought a beautiful baby girl into our family.
From the day we brought you home from the hospital, to this very day, you have blessed us with your smile, laughter and warm and caring heart.
Happy 24th Birthday Kristen
This is a poem I wrote for our daughter on her 18th Birthday.
It happened one night, February 26, 1987
A baby girl, God sent to us from heaven.
She brought to our home laughter and hugs,
And a big toothy grin, at our hearts she would tug.
Girl Scouting, special friends and American Girl Dolls,
These are the memories of when she was small.
Swimming was fun; she was on a great team,
Maverick’s was part of this little girl’s dream.
She could always be counted on to be a true friend,
When it came to friendship, her loyalties would not bend.
Now that you’re older much style you have gained,
Things of importance and priorities changed.
The mall and the gym is where we find you,
Or in the stylists chair getting a new hair-do.
Shopping for clothes, purses and shoes,
Buying them all in quantities of two.
Eighteen candles on a cake we will place,
One for each year you grew in beauty and grace.
Kristen is happy to say, “I’m this age”,
The fact really is - she is turning a new page.
We just can’t believe that this day has arrived,
The time quickly went and we feel somewhat deprived.
But we are proud of who you’ve become
God has blessed you with strength and wisdom.
Keep the Lord first in all of your ways,
And He will be faithful to the end of your days.
Lord, we ask that you keep her path clear,
And we thank you for giving us a daughter so dear.

What a cute little peanut girl, time sure does fly by. You should be so proud of her!
I am impressed with your poetry skills and the love that seems from your heart as you wrote it. Happy 24th birthday to your beautiful daughter!
Happy 24th birthday to your daughter! I have ones not far behind her, and seeing that little dress and bonnet look brought back a wave of mommy feelings for me.
She was adorable.
Such a creative poem.
Thanks for sharing.
