One a Penny - Two a Penny

I don't know what it is about men and them wanting to get items for free or for a challenge!  Albertson's Grocery Stores are having a promotion to get "Cookware for a Penny", by collecting reward stickers and then making a purchase with one red cent!  The cookware is really quite nice, it is by Thomas Rosenthal Group.  My husband who is quite the chef, saw this promotion and was very excited...he needed a new Wok.

The promotion goes like this... for every $10 that you spend at Albertson's you get one reward sticker for your stamp booklet, to start saving towards whatever cookware piece that you would like.  If you spent say...$9.99, you would not get a sticker, you have to spend exactly $10.  Each cookware piece has a certain amount of stamps you must collect in order to WIN that piece- plus one penny.

Keith wanted the Wok, so in order to WIN the Wok you needed 90 reward stickers- plus one penny and it was yours!!  So... he started shopping, and shopping and collecting his reward stickers. Our oldest son even got in on the action, he made sure that he only shopped at Albertson's and brought home reward stickers for his dad.  It is all about the contest!  We only had to spend $900 in groceries to get his Wok with his 90 reward stickers-plus a penny.  He thought it was a great deal and suggested that we had to buy groceries anyway and he loved the idea of getting something for one penny!

Well, here it is, Keith's beautiful new Wok!

I'm still not sure if it was really all WORTH it.....

Well... m a y b e

Reminds my of the green stamps my mother-in-law used to collect from the Market Basket. I think we still have the ironing board she bought with these stamps 30+ years ago.

I'm saving mine right now. Jewel-Osco is doing the same promo. I want the square grill pan. LOL...I probably won't get it because I still need 75 stickers! I have shopping at another store mostly because they have double coupons to a dollar on Saturday's! They win if I can save money!

Your hubby's stir fry looks wonderful!!!

Men are funny that way. My ex used to love to shop at Sam's Club and buy in bulk. I had a hard time explaining to him that bringing a big bag of chips home was not saving us anything. With 4 kids in the house a big bag of chips didn't last longer...they just ate more!

Your hubby's stir-fry looks delish. Wish I could try a bite.

The stir-fry pan would be one that I would go after. Made me smile to read how he got it. I am sure you were thrilled that he made the stir-fry. Sure does look good!
