Mirror - Mirror

I remember back in the day when this reflective piece of glass was my friend.

The image reflected back at me wasn't so bad.
As the years passed, so did my eyesight, and I had to purchase a new piece of glass in order to "put my face on" in the mornings.

But as the years continued on, this reflective piece of glass was really no longer such a good friend to me.  There were lines, wrinkles and brown spots that I knew couldn't belong to me.  And then, there were the eyelids or the absence thereof.   Applying eye shadow and especially eyeliner in a straight line was becoming almost impossible. What happened to that tight skin around my eyes? To top it all off, this newer piece of glass just wasn't cutting it, and in order to see the make-up I was applying, I had to wear these also!

Not an easy feat!
During our travels a few years ago, we stayed at a nice hotel in Chicago and I saw one of the greatest inventions ever made!  This new piece of glass had some magnification (ok... it had a lot)
I could actually see to put on my make-up and it was hands free!

My husband recently purchased this new piece of reflective glass for me, at my asking, and it came in the mail yesterday.  And although the image I see, when I look into this piece of glass is older and a little more wrinkled (especially in the high powered magnification) I am thankful for make-up, and this new magnified mirror, because as the saying goes...
"If the barn needs painting...then paint it!"  So... I will be painting away, hands free...YIPEE!

This was a cute blog, sis. I am right there behind you. I can't see to pluck my eyebrows without my glasses on. Another season of life.

I think my barn has been painted so many times there is not much hope anymore.

You on the other hand still look cute as a button!

Dear Crickit - you look beautiful!

I'm short-sighted so what I see in the mirror is my face as it really is; meanwhile I see everyone else in super-flatering soft-focus, lol!

Sending care and huggles, Michelle down in NZ

Your barn doesn't need painting, you are so pretty! Just keep the barn in good condition and paint the trim a little bit!
