Today is March 17th….Saint Patrick’s Day! I don’t usually celebrate this holiday, as I am not Irish. I know that you don’t have to be Irish to celebrate, especially in the pubs. The only times that St. Patrick’s Day ever really meant anything to me was back in my elementary school days when, if you were not wearing Green, you would be pinched. I always wore Green back in those days because…. well, I didn’t want to be black and blue by the end of the day and it gave me an excuse to possibly pinch a cute boy!
I once worked with a woman who was Irish. Her name was, Agnes (Aggie for short). She had red hair, freckles and a temper that said, “I am Irish”! She was a lot of fun to be around though. Every St. Patrick’s Day she made corned beef and cabbage and Irish soda bread. Aggie always brought in an extra loaf of Irish Soda Bread (or Soder bread, as she called it, she was from New York) for all her co-workers. It actually tasted really good. She also brought in extra Green buttons for us to wear that said, “Kiss Me I’m Irish”, just in case, you forgot to wear Green… I never forgot.
I hope that if you are Irish, you enjoy this Special Day! Enjoy your meal of corned beef and cabbage and maybe even a loaf of Irish soda bread. I’m quite sure you will wear GREEN and maybe even a funny hat, button or shirt that exclaims, “Kiss Me I’m Irish”!
I will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the only way I know how… by driving through McDonald’s drive- thru and ordering myself a Shamrock shake. “Erin Go Braugh”!

I don't have a lick o'Irish in me but it's fun to play the green game anyway and eat corned beef and cabbage. I am not, however, wearing green. (Please don't pinch me.)
Do they have a holiday for the Dutch?
Enjoy your day & the corned beef and cabbage! :)
Hi Crickit, just wanted to stop by your blog, hopping over from your lovely comments on mine. I'll be by every once in a while! :)
I most certainly wore my shamrock yesterday! I do have a little Irish in me!
